Votes for Women!

In Reception we have been finding out about an important lady who made a positive change for girls in our county. On Monday Mrs Shutt brought in sweets and she shared them with the boys, this made the girls feel quite sad and they all agreed it wasn’t fair. Then we voted for which snack we should have for the following day but again only the boys could vote and the girls were not allowed to have a say. This caused a lot of frustration in the class! We agreed that in our country we are fair and that everybody should have a say, however we found out that it wasn’t always like this! A long time ago if you were a girl you didn’t have the same opportunities as boy. We found out all about Emmeline Pankhurst who bravely stood up for what she believed in and because of her we can all have our say!
